So a couple weeks ago, a friend left a really gross smelling soda of some sort in the backseat of my car open. I’m not sure exactly what flavor it was, but it had a very pronounced smell to it, reminiscent of durian fruit and laundry water.

I didn’t want to jump straight to an air freshener, because all of the ones I have smell really horrible. Soooooo, I just left an open cherry-vanilla soda in there all day in the hot car while I was at work.

It worked perfectly, my car smells very nice now and it completely cancelled out the smell left by my friend’s unknown flavored soda.

So, TIL if somebody leaves a smelly drink in your car, you can cancel it out by leaving another smelly drink in your car.

I just throw dryer sheets under the seats.

I was sorta surprised it worked, haha.

LikeI was thinking that if something was smelly enough to make the entire car smell bad, then countering it with something slightly more smelly would cancel it out.

10/10 would try again. I would also try and prevent my friends from bringing their smelly ass soft drinks into my car again as well.

That’s a good idea also, I’ve never done that before. Maybe next time, haha.
